So on top of everything in my life, I come home today to learn that my 3-year-old step sister to be found my collection these Barbie dolls that are named Liana, opened all of them up, and played with them with glee. I've had those for years. YEARS. I just . . . god dammit.

It never ceases to astound me how intelligent kids can be and the issues that their minds can encompass. Granted, I was one of those kids, but it still amazes me. Google apparently had a "Doodle for Google" contest where kids submitted doodles using the Google logo, and the winner of popular vote will get their doodle displayed on May 22nd.

Hi again all. I'm still working through this cosplay image challenge, so I'm gonna renew my plea for some comments and criticisms about my photoshopping. I'm still very much in the early stages of learning, and I know there are some of you out there with amazing graphics skills, so I'm asking for tips and tricks, as well as for people to point out things I've done wrong so that I can fix 'em next time.
If it will bolster interest, I have Naruto, Gundam and Kingdom Hearts costumes too! I even once did an L. Hooray for popular choices. |

| US Senate race |

Forgot that the democratic candidates debate for US Senate race started at 7. I have it on now. Of course they are favoring Lunsford & Fischer since they are the front runners. A couple of the 7 guys I have to wonder why they are even there - several terrible public speakers. Stepp has said some stuff agree with, but his speaking style and left eye twitch are distracting - and reading a blog he has some points against him. Wylie has someone speaking for him since he uses sign language. Cerrero, or however that is spelled, did not answer some questions well - basically looks like he cann't go unscripted. Rice needs some public speaking lessons but might eventually be okay but I don't know what his positions are. Williams, I cann't even understand him most the time since he has to use a voicebox - there is feedback on him so KET might be partially at fault there.
Wish there was a good website comparing all these guys positions. Even though Lunsford is leading, he is losing ground fast - once people were reminded of how he got all chummy with Fletcher & McConnell (who is US Senator would be running against).

I still haven't put together the HTML for the Vila/Avon fanlisting. Mostly because I cannot think of a name for it that is less lame than "Not Expendable." And my deadline is fast approaching, so I should really work on it.
So. Um. Anyone got a clever/witty/fun/anything name for a Vila/Avon fanlisting? Something that describes them both? Could be a line of dialogue or a word or. WHATEVER. I am hopeless. |

Holy crap my social psychology book just made me cry. It is such a wonderful thing that although there is so much hate, so much misunderstanding, and so much misery in this world .... there is still beauty and good and help and altruism. Wrongs *can* be made right. An awful, horrible mess can be turned around, and people can come out better for all of it.
People can evolve and change for better. Hope exists, and it exists in the hearts of humans. It gives me so much more faith in the world to know that these things are true. |

I have been noticing things over the years with Ayu's concerts. They have a definite formula to them, as far as costumes and themes go (not including the countdown or other special tours, because I haven't seen any of those, and of course those are exceptions).
In every tour there is a costume that is:
Metallic (early years it was silver, more recently it is gold)
Shiney (reflective or actually lit up)
BIG (bigass dress of some sort)
Swing (Ayu sings in a swing, or somehow in the air)
Chinese (usually with Vogue)
PINK
Casual
There is often a a RED as well. Also there is often something religious (crosses), usually with M. Victorian influences appear for a theme for a song or two a lot too (Dome Tour, MY Story, and Secret)
Stadium Tour 2002 seems to be a huge exception to these trends ... that concert was a rebel.
Of course I don't have the time or will to go through and check ALL of these ...but that would be fun! I might make a party (or, ooh, a drinking game!) out of it.
Check off (or drink) whenever Ayu wears ______. HAH. This really could be fun. (finish your drink if Ayu forgets her own lyrics). That would be a fun way to check all of these things. I am SO doing that. Ayu Concert/Drinking party.
Any other themes/trends anyone has noticed in Ayu's concerts? |

It's on the Subprime Mortgage and Credit Crisis. It's an interesting peek into just how screwed up that situation is. Since this is what's likely going to precipitate the next recession, it's interesting to learn about it. Of course, it is a one hour news podcast, so admittedly, it might be easier to just read the Wikipedia article or a few other articles instead if you actually care.
And since he's a convenient scapegoat, yes, I firmly blame ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) chase_the_bunny for making me chase down this stuff. Technically, it isn't his fault, but hell, I might as well dodge responsibility while I can. XD

The UPS man delivered me a nice little present this morning.

So, I seem to have a love of doomed to fail shows. Several times I will mention series I watched as a kid and get totally blank stares back (was I the only one watching?).
One the the shows I never seemed to be able to refind, or people remember, is Q.E.D. - about an American inventor in early 1900s London solving mysteries. Grand total of 6 episodes here. Someone was nice enough to upload first 9 minutes of first episode so I now have proof this show existed. Soon as heard music totally remembered how it went.
Another of the shows at least I would occasionally find people who remembered it. Wizards and Warriors, a total campy fantasy romp - definitely didn't fit in with network. This one actually got up to episode 8 before it was axed. When I first started searching for it, I did so not by the name of the show but by the main baddies name - Prince Blackpool. He was so much more memorable than the rest of the cast. Someone was awesome enough to now have uploaded episode 5 - why 5 since it wasn't one of the better episodes I don't know but I will happily view whatever is uploaded.
